You can only shortcut if you get a NXDOMAIN, not when you get a positive
response but with no answer of the requested type.
NXDOMAIN means the node do not exists. No point in continuing after
this.
No answer of the requested type means there is no record of the
requested type in the node (including nodes recursed int) but the node
itself exists so it's meaningful to continue querying for other
interesting record types. (i.e. A)
