Memory leaks is luckily pretty easy to find these days thanks to
valgrind. Just need to forward port a little glue from 2.6 to unleash
it's full potential.

With it being an early Squid-3 alpha I would suspect you to have been
bitten by some of the generic Squid-3 bugs as well.

Sad to hear that. Myself is back in more Squid focused business again,
if it wasn't for the fact that I am a bit short on time at the moment..
