This is a was a different bug for reverse proxies not using
httpd_accel_host virtual.
Your problem is Bug #1193.

No, as I haven't found anyone outside of the Linux world interested in
testing the required changes.
The changes needs to be verified to at least build OK on the other
interception platforms as well. But if I get an OK at least from FreeBSD
then the patch can make it into 2.5. Until then it will sit and wait in
Bugzilla as it is very easy to work around.
