aufs needs to get stable and perform reasonably well. Currently working
on this. See the asyncio branch on sourceforge if you are to touch
anything more in aufs. (wuite extensive rewrite, so any changes in the
HEAD version of aufs will quite likely cause conflicts here..)
Btw, good work with the memory pools. Continued it a fair bit further in
the above branch by adding a even smaller pool (128 bytes), and allocate
all paths using your pooled xmalloc primitive.
