Hi,
Wondering on what the status (or consensus) is for a total rewrite for
squid 2.0.
Given the difficulty I'm having with my "pet features" especially with
the storage/memory model, I wonder if it's best not to work on these
until we have a newly rewritten version in the works. I can then devote
my Squid hacking time to covering some things in the TODO lists which
are necessary for an intermediate release (Squid 1.2?)
If it's a rewrite, what's the main reason to do so:
- get away for Harvest copyright issues and move into full GPL?
- support HTTP/1.1 pipelining/persistency which doesn't seem possible with
the current architecture?
- make the source more readable for most people? :)
Thanks,
