Hi Lyle from a fellow Canberran!
You need a statement such as :
LoadMIBs: /opt/mrtg-2.8.12/mib.txt
in your squid config file, and the mib.txt file should be the file that
came with your particular squid version. MRTG will then translate the MIB
symbolic names into those weird numbers.
If you like you can phone me at work on 6219 8067 and I can talk you thru
my config.

Subject:
Does anyone know what might be wrong with my SNMP configuration with squid.
I am trying to graph statistics from squid's SNMP stats with MRTG, but all
I
get is an error message from my MRTG cron statement saying :
"Unknown SNMP var cacheServerRequests", and the same with all of the other
squid SNMP variables.
I am running MRTG version 2.9pre29 and Squid version 2.3STABLE4
I think that I have the right statements in the squid.conf file for the
SNMP
ACL's etc. My ACL definition for SNMP is:
" acl snmppublic snmp_community public "
and my SNMP access statement reads
" snmp_access allow snmppublic
snmp_access deny all "
Are there any statements that any of you can think of that I might have
forgot.
Thanks in advance.
